Chauffeur / House Manager Job
Unique UHNW family position blending driving excellence with household management.

 

Rare opportunity to support a UHNW family in a hybrid Chauffeur / House Manager position, offering a mix of responsibility, autonomy, and long-term stability. The role combines professional chauffeur duties with household management for central London residence.

This position would suit a highly reliable, discreet, and experienced individual with a background in UHNW households, security driving, who is seeking a trusted long-term partnership with a family.

Job Specification:
Chauffeur Duties (~70%)

Drive two teenage children (ages 16 and 14) to and from boarding school: Friday afternoon pickup. Sunday evening drop-off. Drive principals and family members as required Manage and maintain 1–2 allocated vehicles from the fleet Ensure vehicles are clean, roadworthy, and serviced/MOT as required. Prioritise safety, discretion, and advanced driving standards at all times. Be on call during periods when the family is in residence.

House Manager Duties (~30%)

Prepare London residences ahead of family and guest arrivals. Liaise with and supervise cleaning staff to ensure household standards are maintained. Oversee dry-cleaning requirements. Carry out grocery shopping and stock household essentials. Coordinate basic property maintenance, liaising with contractors and service providers. Provide ad hoc support to teenagers when required (not supervisory, more supportive presence). Occasionally assist the family at concerts, personal outings, and events.

Additional Notes

Downtime during school holidays and periods when the family is abroad; salary continues in full. Full-time duties intensify during family visits, particularly at the start of the school year.

Candidate Requirements:

Self-employed, able to contract services directly (client will not open a UK company). Clean UK driving licence essential. Enhanced DBS check (within 12 months, or at offer stage). Minimum 5 years’ employment history with strong, checkable references Professionalism, honesty, reliability, and flexibility are essential. Long-term mindset and loyalty highly valued.

Preferred Backgrounds:

Ex-military, ex-police, or close protection experience. Previous experience working for UHNW families (experience with celebrities or athletes a bonus). Familiarity with Hong Kong families advantageous. Cantonese or Mandarin language skills helpful but not required.

Compensation & Benefits:

Competitive annual gross salary of £60,000 (self-employed, invoiced monthly). Consistent pay throughout the year including holidays Opportunity for long-term, stable engagement with UHNW family.
