As a Charge Nurse you will provide onboard supervision of the nursing staff, administration of the ship’s health center and provide direct and indirect patient care for both crew and guest!You will report to:Chief Physician (Shore side)Lead Physician (Shipboard) Responsibilities: How You Will Make a DifferenceProvide inpatient, outpatient and ICU care onboard for guests and crewOrients new medical staff and trains in areas such as EMR familiarity, shipboard emergency response, location of ACLS and AED equipment, AGE documentation and reporting, and equipment usage to include proper maintenance checks.
Responsible for the overall administrative management of the health center including:
Build and maintain on-call schedule for nursesSupervise Medical Assistant completion of end of cruise reports and distribute to appropriate partiesIs responsible for preparation of all necessary reports including AGE, Unfit for Duty, Referrals, etc.Maintain an adequate stock of medications/medical suppliesCheck and maintain all medical equipment. Advising accurate parties when repairs are necessary.Provide training for Emergency Stretcher TeamCoordinate and implement onboard health education in conjunction with medical staffTriage emergency calls, assessing and treating on scene and transferring patient to shipboard medical center for definitive care.Assist with implementation of crew immunization programs.Responsible to oversee and assist with Public Health reportingAdditional duties include equipment checks, medicines and inventory management, participation in drills, audits, inspections, and training of other crew members.Technical skills are learned and practiced on board, such as X-rays acquisition, and performing a wide array of laboratory tests and other procedures Basic Qualifications: What You Will Bring to the TeamActive nursing license from STCW country.Nursing degree from recognized college or university from STCW countryThe ability to provide a letter of good standing prior to embarking from STCW country2 Years recent professional nursing experience in general and emergency medicine or trauma care or critical care1 year of experience in a nursing leadership position2 years Maritime Medical experienceBasic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ALCS) CertificatesValid accredited BLS/PALS/ALS/ACLS certificates prior to joining a vesselDigital literacy, experience with MS Office programs and experience with electronic health records Preferred Qualifications: How You Will Stand OutExperience with Sea Care Additional Information: This is a SHIPBOARD role:
