Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. Assist in educating and mentoring other chaplains, volunteer chaplains and chaplain students. Ability to adjust schedule to accommodate needs of the Pastoral Services department to include weekend coverage if necessary. Interpersonal skills for work with distressed and anxious patients, family, and employees. Ability to assess spiritual needs and sense of well-being, and to offer/find appropriate care for patient concerns in a high stress, fast-paced environment. Able to prioritize needs and professionally handle multiple interruptions Empathy for the problems experienced by others; commitment to care for the distressed. Communication skills and self-knowledge to provide compassionate counsel with appropriate boundaries to patients, families, and staff. Commitment and ability to provide spiritual care reflecting the Core Values of McLeod Health. Other duties as assigned.
