Staff Chaplain with speciality in Pediatrics
The Staff Chaplain is responsible for the delivery of spiritual care to patients, their loved ones, and as hospital staff. The Chaplain will have responsibility to ensure that religious and spiritual needs of patients and their loved ones are met in the Children's hospital. The Pediatric staff Chaplain will report to the Director of Spiritual Care.
Qualifications:
Required:
Must be a Board Certified or BCC eligible Chaplain with any of the following organizations: Association of Professional Chaplains, National Association of Catholic Chaplains or the National Association of Jewish ChaplainsCompletion of Four units of Clinical Pastoral EducationMaster Degree in Theology/Divinity or EquivalentProficient in Windows based office softwareScheduling Requirements:
Working Shift: Monday – FridayDay ShiftPart-Time, 24 Hours Per WeekEssential Functions:
Participate in delivering and arranging for appropriate spiritual care to patients, their loved ones and staff throughout the hospitalActively participate in the delivery of spiritual care adhering to the departmental policies and standards of practice and ethics according to their board certifying organizationRespond to requests for spiritual care in a timely mannerFollow a triage response to emergency situations as well as referrals and consultsProactively round on assigned units, performing spiritual assessments and interventionsEducate and execute Advance Care planning documentation with patientsDocuments all patient visits in Epic according to department procedureSupport an interdisciplinary approach to spiritual careParticipate in team meetings and interdisciplinary roundsServe on institutional committees as appointedPromote a team-centered approach to spiritual care among all chaplains, students and volunteers in the departmentServe as a clinical preceptor to help mentor clinical pastoral education studentsProvide educational opportunities about elements of spiritual care to students and staff as requestedOther Duties:
