The Chapel Attendant – Audio/Visual Support is primarily responsible for providing professional audio/visual (AV) technical support for funeral and memorial services, ensuring all multimedia elements operate seamlessly and respectfully. This position also supports chapel operations, assists with services, and maintains chapel readiness. The role is critical to delivering a dignified, high-quality experience for families, guests, and service staff.

**Audio/Visual Technical Responsibilities**
+ Set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot all chapel/facility audio/visual systems, including microphones, soundboards, speakers, projectors, screens, televisions, livestreaming equipment, recording systems, and related hardware.
+ Ensure optimal audio quality, video clarity, and system functionality before, during, and after services.
+ Coordinate and execute multimedia presentations such as slideshows, videos, music playback, livestreams, and recordings based on service plans and family requests.
+ Provide real-time, discreet technical support during live services, promptly resolving issues to minimize disruption.
+ Conduct routine testing, inspection, and basic maintenance of AV equipment; report technical issues or repair needs to management.
+ Maintain organized storage, inventory, and proper handling of AV equipment, cables, and accessories.
**Chapel Attendant & Service Support Responsibilities**
+ Set up chapels for services, including seating arrangements, lecterns, floral placement, and overall presentation.
+ Assist with funeral and memorial services as directed.
+ Escort assigned services to gravesites and assist with parking and traffic flow as needed.
+ Maintain accurate records of flowers delivered to chapels, including flower log documentation and description card setup.
+ Transport flowers, equipment, and service-related materials.
+ Assist with retrieval, setup, and breakdown of food and beverages for services or receptions.
+ Provide professional, compassionate customer service to families, clergy, and guests.
+ Perform daily chapel maintenance and inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and readiness.
+ Complete daily service notes and data entry into the HMIS system.
**Operational & General Responsibilities:**
+ Drive company vehicles, including sedans, vans, flatbeds, and limousines, as assigned.
+ Assist with vehicle inspections and basic maintenance reporting.
+ Take direction from the Funeral Service Director or Assistant Director to ensure exceptional service delivery.
+ Adhere to all safety rules and regulations; promptly report unsafe conditions or practices.
+ Participate in training and skill development opportunities, particularly related to AV systems and customer service.
+ Communicate effectively with fellow associates, other departments, and management.
+ Comply with company dress code, attendance policy, and departmental guidelines.
+ Perform all additional duties as assigned by supervision or management.
+ Work onsite as required.
+ Understand basics of Rose Hills’ Memo-Obit tasks, must be able to assist with last-minute printing of collateral such as prayer cards, memorial folders, etc.
**MINIMUM Requirements**
**Education**
+ High School Diploma or GED required.
+ Post-secondary coursework or certification in audio/visual technology, media production, event technology, IT support, or a related field is a plus.
**Certification/License**
+ Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
**Experience**
+ Minimum of two (2) years of customer service experience required; experience supporting live events, ceremonies, worship services, or similar environments strongly preferred.
+ Experience with professional or semi-professional audio systems, including wired and wireless microphones, mixers, amplifiers, speakers, and soundboards.
+ Experience operating video systems such as projectors, televisions, LED displays, and video playback devices. Experience managing AV cabling, adapters, and signal routing in a clean and organized manner.
+ Prior experience in chapels, churches, event venues, hospitality, or similar service environments is highly desirable
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
+ Demonstrated ability to operate and support audio/visual systems in a live-service or event-based setting.
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a time-sensitive environment.
+ Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-oriented while troubleshooting technical issues during live services.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate, service-oriented approach.
+ Basic computer proficiency, including data entry and use of internal systems.
+ Stable employment history with demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
+ Ability to lift, move, and set up AV equipment, chairs, and service materials as required.
+ Familiarity with livestreaming platforms, recording systems, and basic video capture workflows.
+ Ability to manage multimedia presentations, including slideshows, video playback, and music coordination.
+ Basic troubleshooting knowledge of common AV issues, including feedback, signal loss, connectivity problems, and audio/video synchronization.
+ Ability to quickly learn site-specific AV systems and follow standardized procedures.

+ Climbing stairs to access buildings frequently
**Physical Demands**
+ Physical effort requiring manual dexterity is required, includes paperwork, computers and phone usage
**Work Hours**
+ Working beyond “standard” hours as the need arises
**Compensation:**
$22.00/hr - $28.00/hr
