Description We are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide strategic financial leadership for a dynamic real estate and land development company in San Diego, California. The ideal candidate will excel in managing complex financial operations, driving investment strategies, and overseeing capital markets. With a focus on long-term growth, this role requires expertise in financial planning, compliance, and team leadership within the real estate and construction sectors.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement financial strategies to align with the company’s real estate and investment objectives.
• Collaborate with leadership teams to assess new land acquisitions, project feasibility, and portfolio performance.
• Lead financial modeling for acquisitions, construction, entitlements, and disposition scenarios.
• Oversee corporate and project-level financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow planning to support land acquisition and construction projects.
• Establish and monitor KPIs and dashboards to track financial health and project outcomes.
• Build and maintain relationships with banks, lenders, and equity partners to secure financing for development projects.
• Negotiate and structure financing agreements, including construction loans, land loans, and joint ventures.
• Implement financial controls, policies, and compliance measures tailored to real estate operations.
• Mentor and lead a high-performing finance team to support multi-phase development projects. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 10–15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience in real estate development or construction finance.
• Proven expertise in managing capital-intensive projects and securing debt and equity financing.
• Advanced skills in financial modeling, valuation, and understanding of real estate pro formas.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities with lenders and investors.
• Deep knowledge of project costs, entitlements, and cash flow cycles.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic planning capabilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving entrepreneurial environment.
