MAU is hiring a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Green Energy Biofuel, in Columbia, SC. As the Chief Financial Officer, you will provide strategic financial leadership across all areas of accounting, capital strategy, operational finance, and compliance—guiding a mission-driven company through transformational growth. Benefits Package 401(k) Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Paid vacation Paid holidays Paid time off Annual bonus Opportunity for advancement Shift Information Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Regular travel required to company locations in Winnsboro and Aiken, SC Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field 10+ years in progressive finance leadership roles in asset-heavy industries (e.g., waste, manufacturing, energy, transportation) Direct experience leading M&A activity and integrating operations post-acquisition Demonstrated ability to operate in a capital-intensive, compliance-driven, privately held environment Proven experience scaling finance operations in a high-growth, entrepreneurial company Preferred Education and Experience CPA or MBA Background in renewable fuels, waste services, or environmental compliance Knowledge of carbon markets, LCFS/RFS credits, or circular economy strategies Familiarity with private capital markets, investor relations, and board reporting Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Sage, QuickBooks Enterprise) and Business Intelligence tools General Requirements Strong financial modeling and budgeting skills High proficiency in capital planning, risk management, and regulatory compliance Excellent leadership and team development capabilities Ability to work cross-functionally and influence decision-making at all levels Strategic mindset with hands-on operational execution Essential Functions Serve as a core member of the executive team, shaping company strategy and long-term financial vision Build and lead multi-year financial models for budgeting, vertical integration, facility expansion, and market growth Drive business model innovation to optimize pricing, margins, and operational efficiency Oversee information gathering for R&D credits Determine profitability per revenue stream/location and shared resources Lead financial due diligence and deal modeling for acquisitions Support post-merger integration and track performance across entities Source and negotiate financing options, including debt and equity, with banks, private equity, and investors Deliver accurate budgets, forecasts, and dashboards with actionable KPIs Improve visibility into job costing, plant operations, route profitability, and asset utilization Identify operational bottlenecks and collaborate cross-functionally to unlock cash flow and scale Supervise all accounting functions including GL, payroll, AP/AR, and tax Streamline month-end close processes and manage a team of three finance professionals Oversee regulatory compliance (ISCC, RFS, feedstock traceability) and manage insurance and risk Provide timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports Determine estimated quarterly tax payments and ensure timely distributions Maintain strong banking relationships and monitor daily cash flow Manage working capital proactively Evaluate ROI on large investments such as fleet, plant upgrades, and certifications Negotiate favorable loan and financing terms Build and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team across multiple locations Mentor leaders in operations, HR/payroll, and procurement Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and alignment with company mission Working Conditions Office setting with regular travel to Green Energy Biofuel locations in Winnsboro and Aiken, SC Collaborative executive environment in a fast-paced, high-growth company Physical Demands Travel required to multiple operational locations within South Carolina
