Human Resource Contact: Molly Skala /molly.skala@wyo.gov ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level. + Participates in the planning and development of the Curriculum, and the preparation of student materials and instructional materials. + Manages, teaches, and interacts with students in a classroom setting. + Administers assessment tests to students; measures & assesses results. + Plan and coordinate classes throughout the year and ensure the school district transportation department is available for transporting students to/from STARBASE and tour locations. + Assists with office duties related to the STARBASE program. + Confers with other staff regarding student needs and/or performance. Provides consultation on special needs students for other educational or program staff. Qualifications PREFERENCES: Preference may be given to the candidate with a Bachelor's degree in STEM field or education. Preference may be given to the candidate with at least three years of experience in elementary education. KNOWLEDGE: + Knowledge of instruction of elementary children and adults -- planning for instruction; motivation; physical, mental, and emotional growth; learning styles; classroom management. + Knowledge of communication -- written and verbal -- must be able to write coherent and orderly reports; must be able to communicate with staff, parents, school and state staff, and students in both written and oral form. + Knowledge of effective communication with students in teaching settings is also required. + Knowledge of curriculum management and development. + Knowledge of science, technology, engineering, and math curriculum. + Knowledge of basic science, math, technology, teamwork, and goal setting pertinent to the curriculum. + Knowledge of basic computer software (word processing, spreadsheet, presentation) including the ability to utilize information resources on the internet and communication with e-mail. + Knowledge of software used in instruction such as PTC Pro-E Computer Aided Design Software. + Knowledge of the operation of computers, as well as videotape and DVD players in conjunction with multimedia projector. + Knowledge of understanding computers and their operations so as to take care of day-to-day operational problems. + Knowledge of policies and procedures established for the work system, acquired on the job. + Knowledge of agency rules and regulations. Knowledge of workings of state government. + Knowledge of program mission and vision. + Knowledge of the administrative process. + Knowledge of principles of customer service and process improvement. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's Degree (typically in Education) Experience: 0-3 years of progressive work experience (typically in Education or Instruction) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Teacher Aide Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Possession of or proof of ability to secure a Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board Certificate. OR Education & Experience Substitution: 4-6 years of progressive work (typically in Education or Instruction) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Teacher Aide Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Possession of or proof of ability to secure a Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board Certificate. Necessary Special Requirements PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: + Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, driving an automobile, etc. + Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
