Job Title: Surgical TechnologistJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic surgical team. This role involves working closely with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standard of care during surgical procedures. You will play a crucial part in maintaining a sterile environment and supporting the surgical team with your technical expertise.

ResponsibilitiesPerform the first scrub role by directly assisting the surgeon with sterile instruments and supplies.Anticipate the surgeon’s needs based on case knowledge and prepare accordingly.Differentiate between core and specialty cases within assigned services.Support second scrub role duties, including holding retractors, sponging or suctioning operative sites, and applying electrocautery within scope.Collaborate with circulating RN to ensure accurate counts of sterile items per policy.Assist RN in gathering appropriate supplies for surgical cases.Mix and label drugs and solutions for use at the sterile field under supervision.Maintain supply of fluids, solutions, and medications as directed.Identify and respond to age-specific care needs in coordination with the surgical team.Assist with setup, maintenance, and post-operative care of surgical equipment and supplies.Place equipment and arrange instruments in the OR per instructions.Wash and sterilize equipment following manufacturer guidelines.Assist team members in positioning patients on the OR table under supervision.Perform proper surgical scrub and don gown and gloves; assist others in doing the same.Apply dressings post-surgery as directed.Participate in rotational call coverage after 12 months of experience and training.Essential SkillsCertified Surgical Technologist.Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program.Current certification as Certified Surgical Technologist through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assistants.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification in adult, child, and infant.Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterilization.Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and respond effectively during procedures.Additional Skills & QualificationsCompletion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent training.Minimum of 1 year of experience in an operating room setting preferred.Demonstrated ability to perform both first and second scrub roles within scope of practice.Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and OR protocols.Familiarity with age-specific care considerations and ability to support team-based patient care.Effective communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary surgical teams.Willingness to participate in rotational call coverage after training period, if applicable.Commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous learning in a fast-paced surgical environment.Work Environment

This position operates within a renowned surgery center recognized for its excellence in clinical quality. The work schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts per week, starting as early as 6:00 AM and ending as late as 4:30 PM, with potential rotational call coverage after the training period. The surgical technologist will engage in hands-on work with state-of-the-art surgical equipment in a collaborative and high-paced setting, adhering to strict sterile protocols and dress codes.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
