Certified Respiratory Therapist

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will join an established team of RTs who share your passion for delivering highly specialized cardiopulmonary care to patients experiencing breathing issues. You'll be instrumental in providing a range of treatments from breathing techniques and nebulizer treatments to ventilator management, oxygen therapies, and external ventilation support.

Every day you will apply your keen assessment skills and critical thinking to manage diverse patient needs, develop and execute effective care plans, and ensure calm, focused intervention in both routine and emergent situations.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, unwavering calm under pressure, and the ability to anticipate outcomes. Your dedication to patient well-being and exceptional problem-solving abilities will drive success in this vital role.

Verifies physician orders to carry out all aspects of respiratory care, and documents all respiratory activity, to ensure excellent quality care to all customers.Cleans and assembles equipment, and ensures supply stock levels to meet patient care commitments.Educates and instructs patient, patient's family, and team members on therapeutic and diagnostic procedures to ensure excellent communication to all customers.Possesses lifesaving skills for all age groups, while maintaining health care provider certification, to provide quality care to patients.Collaborates with team members to enhance and promote a team effort to provide timely and effective patient care.Fulfills continuing education requirements and maintains current licensure to maintain required qualifications.

Education Required

Completion of a Respiratory Care Degree Program

Licensure Required

Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) by the Texas Medical Board (TMB)Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)BLS certification (through an approved AHA program)
