What We Offer 🎯 Why This Role Matters As a Certified Professional Coder III, you will be part of a dynamic team of Cardiovascular Coders supporting patient care by driving accuracy and adherence to coding guidelines, governmental and private Third-Party rules, and regulations. Helping Novant Health deliver the most remarkable patient experience, in every dimension, every time. This position requires monthly onsite visits to assigned clinics within the Charlotte, NC area. What You’ll Do: + Location: Charlotte, NC region + Schedule: Monday – Friday, daytime hours + Perform coding of cardiovascular events (surgeries, procedures, office visits) + Perform monthly on-site visits to assigned clinics. + Ensure all technical aspects of the assignment of diagnostic and procedure coding are carried out in accordance with established standards and in compliance with CMS, NCQA, third party payers and other regulatory agencies. + Functions include but are not limited to reviewing surgical operative reports and abstracting clinical diagnoses, procedure codes, and other pertinent information to bill appropriately for services. + Ensure physicians are continually educated on correct coding techniques to maximize reimbursement. + Communicate effectively via email, Microsoft Teams, and phone; actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings. What You’ll Need Required: + Licensure: CPC, CCS-P, COC, CMC, RHIA, or RHIT credentials. + High School Diploma or GED. + 4+ years of healthcare experience AND 3+ years of professional coding experience. + Demonstrate a working knowledge of Current Procedure Technology (CPT), ICD-10 CM, and HCPCS coding. + Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate and work with patients, physicians, staff, and administration. + Demonstrate outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. + Able to perform self-audit of work and awareness of the impact on revenue cycle. + Must be professional in demeanor, dress, and communication style with the ability to pass a mock feedback session with physicians. Preferred: + 3+ years of cardiovascular coding experience. + Experience with EPIC Resolute Billing and 3M Encoder. + Strong familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPC codes. + Intermediate to advance experience with Microsoft Office products.
