As a Pharmacy Technician, you’ll play a critical role in reviewing and processing Prior Authorizations, ensuring patients receive timely access to the medications they need. What You’ll Do + Track and assess coverage determination requests submitted by providers. + Determine whether pharmacist review is required and coordinate accordingly. + Obtain verbal authorizations and request detailed clinical information from prescribers. + Approve or deny coverage requests based on established criteria. + Document decisions in the PBM system and notify providers and members. + Respond to inquiries regarding authorizations and PBM online applications. + Refer specialty drug requests to delegated vendors or clients. + Contact providers for additional information to support reviews. + Communicate final decisions to physicians, providers, and members.
