As a Pharmacy Technician, you’ll play a critical role in reviewing and processing Prior Authorizations, ensuring patients receive timely access to the medications they need. National Certification (CPhT or NHA) isn’t just preferred—it’s a key differentiator. Certified technicians are entrusted with greater responsibilities, leadership opportunities, and are eligible for advancement into supervisory roles.
What You’ll Do
+ Track and assess coverage determination requests submitted by providers.
+ Determine whether pharmacist review is required and coordinate accordingly.
+ Obtain verbal authorizations and request detailed clinical information from prescribers.
+ Approve or deny coverage requests based on established criteria.
+ Document decisions in the PBM system and notify providers and members.
+ Respond to inquiries regarding authorizations and PBM online applications.
+ Refer specialty drug requests to delegated vendors or clients.
+ Contact providers for additional information to support reviews.
+ Communicate final decisions to physicians, providers, and members.
Required Qualifications
+ High School diploma or GED
+ Current Pharmacy Registration and Certification as required by your state
+ National Certification (CPhT or NHA) strongly preferred; required for supervisory roles
+ Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and data entry
+ Excellent customer service and communication skills
+ Experience in PBM, hospital, or specialty pharmacy settings is a plus

+ Fully remote with provided equipment: computer, monitor, headset
+ Requires a dedicated home office space with a closed door and reliable WiFi
+ Training: Monday–Friday, 10 AM–6:30 PM EST
+ Flexibility with shifts available
+ Occasional overtime offered

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
