Job Description

The Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) supports ophthalmologists by performing preliminary eye function testing, gathering patient history, and assisting with procedures. This role ensures high-quality patient care and efficient clinic operations.

ResponsibilitiesTake patient histories and document chief complaints.Perform visual acuity testing, tonometry, pupil assessments, and other diagnostic tests.Assist with minor procedures and administer eye drops as directed.Maintain and clean ophthalmic instruments and exam rooms.Educate patients on eye care, medications, and follow-up instructions.Enter data into electronic medical records (EMR) systems accurately.Support physicians during exams and treatments.Essential SkillsCertification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA)Proficiency in healthcare systems, including NextGen, Epic, and EMR systemsPatient access and care skillsAdditional Skills & QualificationsHigh School DiplomaWork Environment

The position is based in Mt Kisco, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. The work environment is supportive, with a focus on career growth and skill development across over 40 different specialties within the medical field. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $22.00/hr.
