Certified Ophthalmic Assistant
Assists Ophthalmology Department physicians   nurses and other technical support personnel with diagnostic tests performed to evaluate Eye Clinic patients.

Performs visual field testing.Performs ocular motility testing.Performs patient work-ups.Performs additional patient work-ups.Administers ophthalmic drops and ointments.Provides patient services. Maintains ophthalmic exam lanes clinic area and equipment.Continues professional growth.

In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $19.88 - $30.81 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
Experience: 1 year relevant experience
Licensure: COA–Certified Ophthalmic Assistant Certification by JCAHPO (Joint Commission of Accredited Health Professionals in Ophthalmology) within 6 months of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling: (distance: 50 feet), reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 – 100lbs. May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
