CERTIFIED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT
MUST BE A GRADUATE OF AN ACCREDITED PROGRAM AS A CERTIFIED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT, HAVE TAKEN THE NBCOT EXAM OR ELIGIBLE TO TAKE IT AND HAVE A STATE LICENSE TO PRACTICE AS ONE OR ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR ONE.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assesses the needs of residents with occupational therapy needs and matches their needs with services available. Meets with residents regularly according to treatment program schedule, evaluates, and maintains records of residents' progress under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
Reports progress to the supervising Occupational Therapist, management and family members and meets with them with or through the supervising Occupational Therapist on a regular basis to discuss.
Keeps current with professional literature and attends seminars on a regular basis to maintain and update professional skills and licensure.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Hearing ability sufficient to evaluate residents' occupational therapy needs.
Skill communicating verbally and in writing with residents and family members so that all parties understand the program and the degree of progress being made.
