**Overview** **Select Physical Therapy in Winter Haven, FL now hiring** **Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for Hand Therapy** **Hours Needed:** As Needed Mon - Fri **Location:** 1499 6Th Street NW Winter Haven, FL 33881 **Pay Rate:** $30/hr. We are seeking Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants with a minimum of **one year of current experience in hand therapy** and/or new grad with fieldwork in hand therapy for as needed coverage. We have additional hand therapists on staff able to support an occupational therapist or a certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA) in our upbeat outpatient team environment. COTA will treat various upper extremity disorders ranging from tendon injuries, sprains- strains, post- operative fractures, etc. Our population is primarily orthopedic injuries with referrals from hand and orthopedic surgeons. Best practices and evidence-based programs are utilized for individualized patient care. You will work closely with a (large) group of CHTs, working together in the region for support, education and schedule coverage. Our clinics are fully equipped to provide care to patients ranging from post-surgical, non-operative to work conditioning. You will have the opportunity to work closely with excellent hand surgeons. Let's foster your growth! **Responsibilities** + Under the direction of the licensed occupational therapist, optimize the functional abilities and skills of patients. + Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components + Ensure delivery of high-quality patient care services. + Observe, note, and report on the progress of long and short-term treatment goals + Ensure proper documentation of patient care. + Maintain professional standards through compliance with quality assurance policies/ procedures as well as applicable regulations and corporate policies **Qualifications** + Must be a graduate of an ACOTA accredited occupational therapy assistant (OTA) program + National registration and state COTA licensure or registration REQUIRED + Must have 1 year current working experience with hand therapy patients.
