Hours Needed: As Needed Mon - Fri

Location: 1499 6Th Street NW Winter Haven, FL 33881

Pay Rate: $30/hr.

We are seeking Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants with a minimum of one year of current experience in hand therapy and/or new grad with fieldwork in hand therapy for as needed coverage. We have additional hand therapists on staff able to support an occupational therapist or a certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA) in our upbeat outpatient team environment.

 

COTA will treat various upper extremity disorders ranging from tendon injuries, sprains- strains, post- operative fractures, etc. Our population is primarily orthopedic injuries with referrals from hand and orthopedic surgeons.

Best practices and evidence-based programs are utilized for individualized patient care. You will work closely with a (large) group of CHTs, working together in the region for support, education and schedule coverage. Our clinics are fully equipped to provide care to patients ranging from post-surgical, non-operative to work conditioning. You will have the opportunity to work closely with excellent hand surgeons. Responsibilities Under the direction of the licensed occupational therapist, optimize the functional abilities and skills of patients.Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable componentsEnsure delivery of high-quality patient care services.Observe, note, and report on the progress of long and short-term treatment goalsEnsure proper documentation of patient care.Maintain professional standards through compliance with quality assurance policies/ procedures as well as applicable regulations and corporate policies Qualifications Must be a graduate of an ACOTA accredited occupational therapy assistant (OTA) programNational registration and state COTA licensure or registration REQUIREDMust have 1 year current working experience with hand therapy patients. In lieu of experience, new grad COTAs with fieldwork in hand therapy would be eligible. Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificationValid state driver’s license Additional Data
