Job Description
Provide general medical care and select patient care tasks, working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other multidisciplinary team members. This position involves offering individualized education to patients and families, assisting providers with patient office visits, and maintaining organized, clean exam rooms stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
ResponsibilitiesAssist providers by putting patients in rooms, interviewing patients, recording vital signs, and entering information into the electronic medical record.Maintain exam rooms by ensuring they are organized, clean, and stocked with required supplies and equipment.Perform select clinical tests such as blood glucose, rapid HIV testing, influenza, and strep cultures, and manage and operate equipment safely.Correctly label specimens and administer medications according to provider orders, excluding intravenous therapy.Provide pre and post-procedural care, participate in the Time Out, and offer intra-procedural support.Follow standard precautions for infection control, applying medical and surgical aseptic techniques when indicated.Make follow-up calls as requested by the provider and direct calls requiring assessment to a provider.Additional Skills & QualificationsValid CMA license in the state of Iowa.1-3 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.Work Environment
This role operates Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with one evening shift extending until 7 PM each week on a set schedule. There is no weekend work involved.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $68640.00/yr.
