Certified Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

Responsible for assisting providers with patient care, clerical, environmental and organizational tasks such as chart management. Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from clinic services. Conveys a positive image of clinic. May be assigned to specific medical specialist to help with patient care related to that specialty. The medical assistant serves in a multidisciplinary capacity providing general services to a wide variety of populations including pediatric, medical, surgical, ambulatory, orthopedic, geriatric, and women's health.

Checks schedules and organizes patient flow. Accompanies patients to the exam room and updates electronic medical. Prepares patients for exams/procedures. Assists/performs medication administration, dressings and collecting of lab specimens as instructed. Relays information regarding follow-up care and return visit to patients and families. Schedules tests and procedures as directed. Obtains lab/x-ray reports, hospital records, referral information as indicated.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

Medical Assisting Diploma, Required.Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program, Required.

Licensure and Certifications
