**Job Description** The Certified Cardiovascular Specialist is an essential member of the cardiac team with a high degree of precision and concentration, skilled to monitor patients' comfort and safety during test and assist Physicians during procedures. **Qualifications** Registered Cardiovascular Specialist (RCIS/RVS). Foreign MD who has passed MBBS examination may substitute RCIS eligible. For RCIS college trained staff; eligible upon receipt/presentation of RCIS Bachelor's degree strongly preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in Cardiac Cath or EP lab Collective bargaining unit: SEIU 1199-MSH **Responsibilities** 1. Maintain sterile techniques to prepare room, equipment table, and provide quality care to patients. 2. Monitor equipment to ensure appropriate working conditions and during procedures. Alert the care team of any changes. 3. Retrieve supplies under the direction of physicians and nurses during the procedure as needed. 4. Maintain stock at par level in the procedure room by restocking rooms after each procedure with items used during the procedure. Restock lab area as needed. 5. Participate in product evaluations. 6. Count the number of revolutions during a rotablator procedure. 7. Turn on and check all equipment at the beginning of the day. Trouble-shoot problems and immediately contact the appropriate person to repair equipment 8. Check the monitoring equipment, intravascular ultrasound, pacemakers and IABP pump in working condition. Perform assignment according to established guidelines 11. Assist cardiologist with selective procedures. a. Apply principles and practices of asepsis. b. Perform surgical scrub, gowning, and gloving procedure. c. Set up sterile instrument table and prepare supplies according to type of procedure. d. Assist in draping of patient and procedure area according to need. 12. Responsible for arterial sheath management. 13. Present minimum of two in-service to other techs per year. 14. Must submit 24 CEU's per 2 years in approved cardiology-related topics. 165 Takes call; Manages equipment, supplies and inventory, 16. Required to preceptor new staff. **Shared Duties and Responsibilities** 1. Greet visitors and answer telephones promptly and courteously. Escort visitors to appropriate area, when necessary, promptly and courteously. 2. Answer physician pagers and refer to appropriate staff. 3. Maintain a safe, clean, and functional environment, including removing trash and bringing physical plant equipment problems to the attention of the managers. 4. The salary range for the role is $52.6725 - $56.6019 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
