Element has an opportunity for an Certification Engineer - Radio to join our team. As a member of the operations team, the Engineer position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The engineer position must be proficient in a number of core business and technical skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities Provide technical and engineering leadership, and supports the development of new technologies within a local laboratoryBe accountable for accurate and timely release of testing data to customers including sign-offs of quality control data as acceptableBe expected to obtain guidance in non-routine situation testingHave the ability to oversee standard and/or routine technical problem solving activitiesInteract with customers on technical issues and questionsProvide Input and support on business development opportunities with new or existing customersBe confident in making both formal and informal presentations on conventional and/or routine testing to a wide range of stakeholdersAssist in the professional development of novice technicians and engineers within the local laboratoryCarry out crucial examination and implementation of testing concepts and dataUtilize an assortment of skill, methods, procedures and materials in advanced testing analysisBe adept at drawing on internal knowledge as well as industry and/or academic resources in reaching testing conclusions Skills / Qualifications Possess a high level of expertise related to scope, core theories, concepts, terminologies and boundaries of chosen engineering disciplineHave a minimum of 2 years’ pertinent post degree engineering experience, or advanced academic/professional qualificationsIn-depth understanding of testing conceptsCan analyze and compiles testing data from the tests performedPossess strong computer skillsAbility to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plusHave the ability to work on well-defined issues, standard and/or routine tests, without significant guidance or supervisionTakes Initiative and, in most cases, does not need to wait for further instructionAble to decide on and implement appropriate testing methods and protocolsLeads and assigns the work of others when neededAdapt at managing job priority and work time in accordance with targets/goals set by supervisorRecognized by colleagues within the lab as possessing strong technical knowledge.
