Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Phlebotomist, you will competently collect blood and other patient specimens for diagnostic testing, ensuring comfort and safety.

Every day you will identify patients, explain procedures, proficiently perform venipunctures, and accurately label/prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, adhering to safety protocols.

To be successful, you will demonstrate exceptional technical proficiency, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills for accurate diagnostics and patient satisfaction.

Processes, collects, and transports specimens from patients of all ages in an accurate and safe manner following CLSI guidelines and laboratory policies. Complete and accurate patient and specimen identification is demonstrated. Follows verbal and written instructions exactly.Proficient in the use of the laboratory computer systems including but not limited to: consistently and accurately enters lab tests, creating collection batches for transport of specimens to main laboratory, competent in creating report and faxing to physician offices when requested. Maintains routine standing and to follow orders appropriately and ensures all are up to date.Proficient in understanding specimen processing requirements and quality collection. Able to articulate patient education instructions for quality patient collected samples.Consistently utilizes approved protocols and demonstrates teamwork and cooperation to ensure specimens are collected, transported, received, and distributed in an efficient and timely manner. Works consistently and uses time productively. Performs additional duties as assigned.Competent to perform all types of registration duties as required with complete and accurate information. Understands and follows billing processes. Ensures all laboratory orders are compliant with laboratory standards and provides follow-up for all missing compliance data.Promotes a positive image of dignity health through professional, effecient and pleasant interactions with patients, physician, provider staff and co-workers. Interacts well with other hospital departments including but not limited to: admitting, billing and other ancillary departments. Consistently promotes patient satisfaction which is monitored by survey scores measured monthly.
