OVERVIEW:
Central Supply is responsible for providing supplies and equipment in an efficient manner, in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as directed, to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Check supply areas daily and stocks with required items.
Fill requisitions from the nursing department for routine supplies and equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Ensure facility has adequate emergency supplies.
Maintain supply and storage rooms in an organized, clean and safe condition in compliance with applicable local, state or federal regulations.
Ensure inventory is updated as required, when receiving/issuing supplies and equipment. Rotates supplies to avoid loss of expired items.
Ensure all purchase orders are properly prepared signed and submitted as required in procurement policies and procedures.
Coordinate claims on damaged merchandise, errors in shipment, etc. and returns to vendor as required.
Follow process to ensure supplies are tracked and charged appropriately.
Checks invoices, purchase orders, packing slips, etc., against incoming merchandise.
Ensures defective equipment is identified for maintenance repair as required in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Cleans and checks equipment as directed/necessary.
Provides clerical support to nursing department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Must have prior Central Supply experience
Minimum a high school diploma or equivalent
Excellent written & oral communication skills and great problem-solving skills
Understanding of budgeting processes, awareness of profit & loss concepts
Excellent administrative and organizational skills and an ability to prioritize
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a health care setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the care center
Incumbent may be exposed to virus, disease and infection from patients and specimens in working environment
May experience traumatic situations, including psychiatric, and deceased patients

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand and walk for long periods of time, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear
