**Summary:**
**Oversees, coordinates, and plans the orientation and continued education of the Central Sterile Processing team, operating rooms, clinical teams, students, and all other educational needs. Able to provide guidance in line with the AORN and AAMI standards and proper reprocessing procedures. Develops and implement an internship program to build a hiring pipeline for sterile processing. Maintains and updates procedures, standards, and instructions for usage. Creates sterile processing position education plans by collaborating with other educators and management. Provides educational offerings to meet accrediting agency requirements. Participates in quality assurance activities and projects or tasks related to education and training. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of the MetroHealth System.**

Required:
Associate degree in related field or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below.
Certification in CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) from CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) or HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association).
5 years of work experience in sterile processing.
3 years of relevant training, teaching and/or program coordination experience.
Basic PC skills, including proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated ability to maintain positive working relations with other employees and medical staff.
Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
Ability to initiate, manage, and complete multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously.
Preferred:
Experience in educating or leadership.
Knowledge of tray tracking systems.
Process improvement experience, Six Sigma / Lean Process.
Experience in customer service.
Physical Demands:
Able to lift 50 pounds and pull/push up to 350 pounds
Able to sit, stands or stoop, bend and ambulate intermittently during the day.
May need to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
See in a normal vision range with or without correction.
Hear in a normal audio range with or without correction.
Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documental with or without correction.
