Description:
The Central Sterile Processing Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of staff and coordination of decontaminating, cleaning, assembling and the sterilization of instruments and supplies dispensed by Central Sterile Processing, while following infection control practices, organizational policies, industry and accrediting agency standards.
Responsibilities:
Directs the flow of the department to include, making assignments of staff, coordinate surgical needs between Sterile Processing and the OR, communicate closely with members from other units within the hospital, medical vendors and maintain good customer service relations, maintains inventory control for instruments and supplies, monitors the recording/results of biological testing, trains team members, helps organize in-services and accepts responsibility of the department in the absence of the Director.
Expected to assist in the organization and maintenance of IMPRESS™ surgical instrument management system.
Committed to continued education of new procedures, techniques and equipment/instrumentation pertaining Sterile Processing.
Must be conscientious with regard to procedures and capable of accepting assignments to all duties relative to the department and carry a departmental communication device.

Required:
Must be certified and maintain registration as a CRCST
High School Diploma
Must have graduated from an approved Central Sterile Processing class.
3 years of experience in Sterile Processing required; 2 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Lead or Supervisor preferred.
Must have a thorough knowledge of aseptic technique and sterilization techniques.
Must have or acquire computer knowledge within six months of employment.
Must have basic understanding of the P.I. process.
Ability to read, write, speak and comprehends English.
Ability to perform simple math.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift over twenty-five (25) pounds of instrument trays, equipment and supplies. Pushing and pulling of carts. Reaching and handling of instruments and supplies.
Pay Range: $27.75 - $38.84
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
