The Central Fill Program Specialist leads the coordination and execution of Central Fill Pharmacy projects across multiple sites. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams under limited direction to implement operational strategies and ensure alignment with business goals.
As a subject matter expert in Central Fill Operations, the Program Specialist provides guidance to project teams, oversees tactical and operational planning, and holds supervisory and budgetary responsibility. This includes optimizing processes, integrating systems, and supporting field operations through continuous improvement initiatives.
The position will be based out of the following location(s): Boise, ID or Itasca, IL. This role is 4 days of in-office and 1 day of remote work. This is subject to change due to management expectations.
Main responsibilities:
Coordinate medium to large-scale Central Fill Pharmacy projects, identifying risks, resolving issues, and driving results. Develop and implement rollout plans for Central Fill services, including future system enhancements and process improvements. Ensure quality, timeliness, and budget adherence across all project deliverables. Manage day-to-day activities to meet operational objectives and develop expertise in Central Fill and broader Centralized Services functions. Maintain strong relationships with technology partners, escalating issues and tracking progress on deliverables. Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution. Analyze data using reporting tools to enhance Central Fill support and performance across stores. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and innovation within Central Fill operations. Document and promote synergies across Central Fill locations to improve productivity and service levels. Understand and apply KPIs and targeted strategies to drive operational success. Support the development and enhancement of programs to meet performance goals. Lead cross-functional teams, including indirect reports, through all phases of project execution. Prepare standard and ad hoc reports and presentations for leadership and stakeholders.We are looking for candidates who possess the following:
Experience working on cross-functional teams and managing across business units. Proven ability to build and maintain relationships across all levels of the organization. Demonstrated conflict resolution and team leadership skills. Track record of successfully managing projects to completion. Minimum of high school diploma/GED or equivalent experience Knowledge of Pharmacy Operations and related business practices Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Minimum 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions. Minimum 2 years of direct leadership or cross-functional team leadership Preferred: Experience applying project management methodologies and practices, including developing a project plan, including charter, scope, project management approach and management plans, such as the statement of work, cost estimates, schedule, etc. Preferred: Experience presenting and reporting on project plans to appropriate stakeholders, executives, and senior management.We also provide a variety of benefits including:

The salary range is $95,400 to $124,000 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay, PTO Vacation pay/Flexible Time Off, paid holidays, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (such as 401(k) eligibility).
