Job Description
Our Client is seeking a highly skilled Private Wireless Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable private wireless networks (e.g., LTE, 5G) to support mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate will have experience deploying private cellular systems (CBRS, 4G/5G), integrating with enterprise IT infrastructure, and optimizing wireless performance for large-scale environments such as campuses, factories, warehouses, or remote sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and deploy private LTE/5G networks using licensed or unlicensed spectrum (e.g., CBRS) Conduct RF site surveys, spectrum planning, and coverage modeling Configure and manage EPC/core network elements, RAN equipment, and backhaul integration Work with cross-functional teams to integrate private wireless networks with LAN/WAN, security, and cloud systems Troubleshoot wireless performance, optimize QoS, and resolve interference or handover issues Ensure compliance with FCC, CBRS SAS (Spectrum Access System), and local regulatory requirements Evaluate and recommend wireless hardware, software, and infrastructure vendors Document network topology, configurations, and standard operating procedures Provide support and training to field personnel and IT teams
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field is preferred 3+ years of experience in wireless networking, preferably in private LTE/5G environments Hands-on experience with CBRS, RAN, eNodeB/gNodeB, and EPC/5GC components Proficient in RF design tools (e.g., iBwave, Ekahau, Atoll) Strong knowledge of networking protocols, QoS, and IP routing Experience with Nokia, Ericsson, Mavenir, or similar private wireless vendors Familiarity with SAS providers (e.g., Federated Wireless, Google)
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications such as CWNA, CWSP, or vendor-specific LTE/5G credentials Experience with edge computing, IoT, and industrial automation over private wireless Knowledge of security best practices for wireless and mobile networks
Travel: 25% travel to sites across the US.
Cellular Engineer/ Private Wireless Engineer
Duration of Project: 12 months + contract
Location/Address:
Onsite in Plano, TX at least 1 day/week (typically on Tuesday).
Or
Remote, but must travel to Dallas at least once per month (no expense paid)
