**Job Title: CE Facility Support Engineer - Electrical 2**
**Location:** San Antonio, TX
**Pay Rate Range:** $30/hr. – $37/hr.
**Shift:** Night Shift B (12-hour shifts: Thu–Sat & alternating Wed–Sat)
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused **Facility Support Engineer - Electrical 2** to support critical electrical infrastructure within a data center environment. This role requires advanced electrical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to operational excellence and safety. You will perform routine and preventative maintenance, assist in troubleshooting, and ensure proper operation of electrical systems that support high-availability environments.
**Top 3 required skills:**
**1. Electrical Systems Expertise in Critical Environments**
+ Hands-on experience with electrical systems in **high-availability** settings such as data centers, hospitals, manufacturing, or oil and gas facilities.
+ Ability to perform preventative maintenance and safely work on systems like UPS, battery backups, and control panels.
**2. Safety Compliance & Certifications**
+ **OSHA or OSHA-approved NFPA 70E Certification** is **mandatory** .
+ Strong understanding and adherence to electrical safety standards and procedures, including use of proper PPE and lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols.
**3. Troubleshooting & Preventative Maintenance Skills**
+ Ability to **diagnose, repair, and maintain** complex electrical infrastructure.
+ Includes reading electrical readings (voltages, currents, temps), calibrating sensors, and executing PMs per SOPs.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Complete all responsibilities outlined in the CE Technician Level 1 role.
+ Conduct routine rounds and log operational readings (e.g., temperatures, voltages, currents) of electrical equipment.
+ Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for critical environment planned work activities.
+ Safely energize cabinets in colocation environments.
+ Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on:
+ Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems (quarterly and annually)
+ System control panels
+ Battery systems
+ Assist with troubleshooting and repair of electrical and control systems, including sensor calibration and replacement.
+ Adhere strictly to all safety and physical security procedures and policies.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ **Experience:**
+ 3+ years of work or applied learning experience in technical fields such as electrical, controls, automotive, or data center environments
+ Experience with electrical systems in critical infrastructure (e.g., data centers, hospitals, manufacturing, oil & gas, pharma)
+ **Education:**
+ High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
+ **Certifications:**
+ OSHA or OSHA-approved **NFPA 70E Certification** required
+ **Skills:**
+ Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
+ Fundamental understanding of the **National Electrical Code (NEC)**
+ Preferred: **Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW)** designation
+ Flexible availability to work 12-hour shifts and rotating schedules
