The CDL Driver will safely and efficiently deliver equipment between locations and jobsites while maintaining compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform pre and post trip inspections on equipment and vehicles and notify appropriate team members, if any damages or defective equipment has been found
Assist team members with setup and breakdown of cranes / rigging equipment as needed
Properly load and unload equipment to trailer in accordance with company safety standards
Working knowledge of FMCSA regulations
Adhere to Sterling Crane standards
Required Qualifications & Skills
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years commercial driving experience preferably in-town, congested areas
Successfully pass post offer drug and physical screens and have a background that meets company requirements.
Maintain valid A CDL with DOT physical examination (medical card)
Clean MVR and successfully pass background, drug screen and pre-employment physical
Strong work ethic with ability to follow directions.
Team player with excellent communication skills.
Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
Strong safety mindset and ability to follow procedures
Prior experience with rigging or crane-related work is beneficial but not required.
Physical Requirements
Employee will be required to have the capability to stand, walk, bend, squat, sit and lift daily.
Ability to pick up, lift, carry, and move freight/crane parts up to 65lbs.
Most be able to work in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate PPE.
Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects and or materials.
