The registered apprenticeships are high-quality work-based learning and earn-and-learn models that meet national standards for registration with Apprenticeship Colorado. Description of Work Unit The Economic Assistance Quality Assurance (EAQA) unit is under the Public Assistance Quality Assurance (PAQA) division and exists to: + Manage the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) quality assurance functions for economic assistance programs that enhances payment accuracy and informs program administration including measuring eligibility and program accuracy and recommending strategies to improve program outcomes; + Provides independent third-party review for the Adult Financial (AF), Colorado Works (CW), and Low-income Energy Assistance (LEAP) programs including case file audits, data collection, reporting on findings, providing technical and compliance training to stakeholders, and assess and measure county adherence to State and Federal regulations; and + Creates strong partnerships with State and County staff to provide additional services such as non-quality assurance case reviews and consulting, and recommendations for reduction or elimination of eligibility and payment errors. Description of Job In the first 8 weeks of employment, you are required to work in-person at your assigned location. Starting week 9, you are required to work a minimum of 3 days in-person and a maximum of 2 days remote per week. Please note: These working arrangements are subject to change Job Description: This is a structured position designed to provide training and experience. Tasks are performed under direct supervision and detailed instruction and guidance is received. Employees in this class learn to apply theories and principles of the professional field. Positions used for training purposes do not remain at this level indefinitely. Clearly defined assignments require following established work processes. As part of training, eligibility and payment will be determined from county files while working in a specified county department of human services for 12 or more months. This position exists to review Adult Financial (AF) including Aid to the Needy Disabled (AND), Old Age Pension (OAP), and burial assistance, as well as Colorado Works (CW) and LEAP eligibility case files elected through a monthly statistically valid random sample for adherence to state regulations and procedures. These reviews often include technical issues that require the resolution of compliance problems and reconciliation of divergent viewpoints. Provide continuous data to the state and county agencies on frequency, magnitude, and sources of non-compliance. Analyze program performance; directly advising state and/or county staff of areas of risk for eligibility and payment accuracy critically necessary to prevent errors and achieve program compliance. The employee will review Adult Financial and Colorado Works case files and make an initial eligibility and payment determination in accordance with specific timeframes and expectations. 100% of the eligibility and payment determinations are reviewed and approved by the direct supervisor, trainer, or lead worker. Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights Experience Only: Four (4)years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position OR Education and Experience: A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal tofour (4)years. Preferred Qualifications: + Demonstrate typing skill of 50 words per minute while conducting an interview + Experience in c ustomer service (retail, fast food, service industry) + Skilled in using personal computer with Microsoft Office software such as Word and Excel + Ability to write clearly and concisely to capture detail case comments anc actions taken Program Steps: + This apprenticeship program contains 4 distinct step/levels. Individuals selected for the program will be assessed for skill attainment and will move through the following steps: + Step 1 $4,036 per month – less than 6-month of eligibility experience + Step 2 $4,238 per month – 6 to 12 months of eligibility experience + Step 3 $4,329 per month - demonstrated success in determining eligibility and payment for Adult Financial and Colorado Works. + Step 4 $4,906 to $5,500 – upon successful completion of the Adult Financial and Colorado Works quality assurance training and having 6 years of experience. Conditions of Employment + Standard background check and reference check required + Must possess a valid, unrestricted U.S. Driver's License + Former State employees who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination must (1) disclose that information on the application (2) provide an explanation why the prior termination or resignation should not disqualify the applicant from the current position, (3) provide the employee number from the applicant’s prior State employment.
