What Your Day Might Look Like

Conduct evaluations and assessments for speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient goals. Provide direct therapy services to patients across the lifespan, including infants, children, adults, and geriatric populations. Educate patients, families, and healthcare staff on communication strategies and swallowing precautions. Document evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in the electronic medical record (EMR). Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other rehabilitation professionals. Maintain compliance with hospital policies, ASHA standards, and state licensure requirements.
