Category Space Manager

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Management, Engineering, Mathematics, or a similar field.Moderate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and organization.Moderate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint for organizing and visualizing presentations.Ability to analyze large data sets to develop insights and identify opportunities.Negotiation Experience/Comfortability with selling. Ability to translate findings into concise and effective selling stories.Confident presentation skills to convey insights and recommendations to stakeholders.Experience with shelf management and planogram creation (e.g., JDA, Apollo).Preferred experience in category management or sales in the consumer packaged goods industry.Familiarity with syndicated data and software (e.g., IRI, Nielsen).Experience with dashboarding software such as PowerBI, Qlik, Tableau, or Spotfire.

Will be mostly remote with some occasional travel involved either once a month or a week. Needs to be local to Chicagoland area and able to commute to surrounding suburbs if needed.

Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm CST.

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Category Space Manager to join our team. This role involves working collaboratively within a team environment to develop insights, identify opportunities, and communicate recommendations aimed at driving industry growth. We are looking for an individual who takes ownership of their work and consistently strives for excellence.

Responsibilities

Build strong relationships with retailers, acting as a trusted category advisor across all areas of the business.Develop impactful category analyses and consumer insights using a variety of syndicated and non-syndicated data sources.Synthesize learnings to create clear and compelling selling stories using PowerPoint.Educate internal teammates and external customers on growth opportunities through clear and impactful communication.Collaborate with the sales team to engage external retailer buying teams in defined territories to identify growth opportunities.Utilize space planning software to merchandise the department according to category and retailer strategy.

This position offers a full remote work environment, with occasional visits to the corporate office once a week or month. You will be equipped with the necessary technology to support your work. This is a Permanent position based out of Chicago, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
