Sensient is seeking a dynamic seasoned procurement professional to support the indirect categories for North America. This Senior Category Manager will be responsible for leading procurement excellence and driving best value for the specific categories under management, with key focus on productivity, process efficiencies, cost optimization, and service. Your expertise will drive performance, foster supplier collaboration, and enhance the overall value we deliver to our customers.
What you’ll do:
Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies for food ingredients and packaging.Analyze market trends, industry benchmarks, and cost drivers to achieve the lowest Total Cost of OwnershipManage a strategic sourcing process to efficiently handle category needs, from sourcing to performance evaluationBuild and maintain long-term, collaborative relationships with key suppliers to drive innovation and competitive advantageUse Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) techniques to maximize value through supplier partnerships.Lead multi-level negotiations with suppliers, guiding internal stakeholders through legal, commercial, and service level agreementsWhat you’ll bring:
Minimum 5+ years of indirect category management experience that includes strategic sourcing, preferably within the food and beverage industry, but not requiredExperience in MRO, Utilities, Temp Labor, Sterilization Services, Facility Services subcategories including but not limited to other indirect categories. Preferred understanding of CAPEXGood understanding of sourcing capital equipment and its supply base used in the food and beverage industryExperience in contract negotiations which include but not be limited to Master Service Agreements, Energy contracts, Capex Equipment Purchase Agreements, Lease Agreements, Statements of Work, Amendments and NDAsStrong negotiation skills with a deep understanding of supplier contracting and value analysis techniques.Bachelor’s degree preferredWhat you’ll get:

The salary range for this position is $135,000 - $165,000. Pay within the range is based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions. In addition to salary, Sensient is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits program to support the holistic well-being of our employees and their families. This position is also eligible for performance-based incentive pay.
