Our client, a leading organization in the technology sector, is seeking a Category Manager to join their team. As a Category Manager you will be part of the procurement department supporting various technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong strategic thinking, excellent relationship management, and proven leadership skills which will align successfully in the organization. **Job Title: Category Manager IV** **Location: Phoenix, AZ 85054** **Contract role** **Position Summary:** Category Manager for Technology categories including software, infosec, digital workplace, compute and storage. This role is expected to develop and grow relationships with Technology business partners to understand objectives, key priorities, and opportunities. The role will also lead large, complex negotiations with suppliers while managing an internal matrixed deal team. **Responsibilities, at a high level, include:** • Understand spend profiles, leverage benchmarking, and prepare business cases and presentations for Technology leaders • Partner with Technology leaders and Source to Contract team to develop sourcing strategies and plans, negotiate key deals and contracts and complete supplier assessments and selections through RFx activities or targeted negotiations • Lead through strategic thinking, financial analytics, external marketplace focus and partnering closely with business units to influence and help drive key, strategic business decisions • Bring external insights, innovative ideas, and an enterprise view on market trends, competitive landscape value generation and strategic sourcing opportunities. **Required Skills:** • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, balanced with proven track record of delivering tangible results in complex, global and matrix work environment • Excellent relationship management and communication skills with ability to collaborate and influence across levels with internal and external partners (including senior executives) globally. Proven ability to engage and maintain senior stakeholder relationship. • Proven track record of data analysis to develop insights and recommendations, solve business challenges, improve customer experience and bottom-line results • Strong leadership skills and commitment to collaborating and partnering with customers, colleagues and key stakeholders to deliver high-quality output with limited resources. • Positive attitude, ability to work in a fluid, fast-paced, and at times unstructured environment and maintain flexibility to meet the changing needs of the customers, business units and the organization • Extensive Technology category management and/or sourcing experience (in particular with large Sofware deals) **Upon completion of waiting period consultants are eligible for:** + Medical + Dental Plan + Vision Plan + 401(k) + Weekly Pay If this is a role that interests you and you'd like to learn more, click apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this great opportunity.
