Category Manager

C.H. Robinson is seeking a Category Manager – Berries to spearhead the development and flawless execution of our category and supply plan strategy for our Robinson Fresh division. In this role your primary focus will be cultivating and nurturing strong relationships with growers and shippers as you meticulously craft, onboard, and implement our supply plan. You will use your fresh produce expertise to optimize our supply mix, devise innovative pricing strategies, and streamline workflows. Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:

Lead day-to-day category management operations, including communication, execution, quoting, contract proposals, service level management, and reporting

Develop and implement a robust supply plan and strategy to drive category growth and profitability, meeting customer requirements

Actively manage new grower/shipper prospects and collaborate with sales to achieve customer targets

Cultivate and leverage grower relationships to drive continuous improvement in performance

Educate internal teams on category specifics and actively contribute to various aspects of the supply chain

Make pricing decisions for transactions, promotions, and contracts to optimize category performance

Participate in customer meetings as the category subject matter expert, showcasing your expertise

Drive category innovation to enhance competitiveness in the market

Manage personnel within the category when needed, contributing to a high-performing team

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university

Minimum of 5 years of fresh produce experience

Ability to travel up to 25% (domestically and internationally)

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the berries category

Strong financial acumen

Proficient in data analysis and problem-solving

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience in negotiation, pricing strategy, and program development

Deep understanding of the grower/shipper side of the produce industry

Exceptional relationship-building skills

Strong team player with leadership experience

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Compensation Range

$93,200.00 - $147,200.00

The base pay range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for this specific location.  Your individual base pay within this range is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
