Category Manager role responsible for developing and executing global fastener category strategies and optimizing supplier performance across multiple business units.
Job RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business Administration from an accredited institution
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Category Management or Procurement or a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Supply Chain or Operations
Experience in strategic sourcing and category management for direct materials (preferably fasteners or similar components)
Experience driving results through fact-based supplier negotiations
Experience working with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, quality, operations, finance)
Ability to manage and influence multiple stakeholders across regions and business units
Strong data analysis skills to support cost, working capital, and performance optimization
Preferred SkillsExperience developing and deploying global or regional category strategies
Experience managing preferred supplier panels and long-term strategic supplier agreements
Knowledge of VAVE (Value Analysis / Value Engineering) and cost-out initiatives
Experience with supplier performance scorecards and formal supplier business review processes
Experience in supplier risk assessment, mitigation planning, and business continuity strategies
Familiarity with working capital improvement initiatives related to procurement (payment terms, inventory, etc.)
Experience in industrial, electrical, or manufacturing environments
Job ResponsibilitiesSupport the development and deployment of the global fasteners category strategy across multiple regions and business units
Drive category performance toward optimal conditions in cost, commercial terms, working capital, quality, delivery, resiliency, innovation, and VAVE
Identify and leverage synergies across businesses to maximize value from the fasteners category
Support development and deployment of strategic initiatives that facilitate cross-business synergies through a rationalized set of global and regional preferred suppliers
Negotiate and manage key strategic supplier contracts and relationships
Review, approve, monitor, and report compliance to category agreements and strategies in alignment with overall supply chain management direction
Lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies for the fasteners category
Plan, prepare, and execute annual profit planning for owned spend, and support execution with cross-functional business teams
Lead formal Supplier Business Reviews with strategic suppliers on at least an annual basis
Identify potential financial and operational threats to the business related to suppliers and develop proactive risk mitigation strategies to ensure supply continuity
Facilitate cross-functional teams in managing financially distressed supplier situations and communicate status and risk to senior leadership
Pay Details: $39.00 to $52.00 per hour
