The Category Manager will support the Mondelez Category Captain team by providing insights into category trends, consumer behavior, and merchandising strategies. You'll be responsible for planogram development by analyzing market, shopper, and consumer data to identify performance, trends, and growth opportunities. The role requires strong data analysis, business acumen, excellent communication, and problem-solving skills.  Mondelez is seeking a critical thinker with strong influencing and relationship-building abilities, who excels in a fast-paced environment.

How you will contribute

You will:

Manage day-to-day relationships with customer cross-functional teamsLead preparation and execution of customer meetings, including weekly updates and ad hoc sessionsProvide strategic recommendations grounded in a deep understanding of category trends and customer needs, identifying risks and opportunities with action plans to address them within customer business requirementsCollaborate with buyer and category analyst to develop best in class planogram strategies based on qualitative and quantitative analysisProvide strong guidance to customer on the principles and uses of consumer segmentation to unearth actionable, growth-oriented insights at a retail levelManage planogram build process ensuring all customer timeline expectations are metAnalyze planograms leveraging JDA tables, formulas, highlights, charts, and labelsTrack performance using internal and syndicated reportingMaintain store and product attribution databasesContinuously optimize business through data, tracking, learningSupport Omnichannel objectives to drive sustainable category growth

Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience required4+ years of experience within insights, customer growth, Target experience preferredExperience in planogram development, space planning (JDA/Blue Yonder), and execution, with the ability to translate category strategies into effective shelf layouts that drive sales and enhance guest experienceStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and turn insights into actionable business strategiesExperience in using retailer data, panel/POS syndicated data (Circana, Nielsen, Numerator, etc.), consumer insights and analytics to develop compelling retail customer plans ideally in the FMCG/CPG industryHigh proficiency in base business tools (Excel/PowerPoint), with in-depth knowledge in analyzing and creating visualizations of large amounts of dataStrong knowledge and usage of market segmentation modelsProven track record in persuasively influencing and aligning key customers and business stakeholders in a highly matrixed organizationUnderstanding of how to use Target’s systems, including POL, VIQ, CKS, and DOMOStrong communication and presentation skillsUnderstanding of Category Management 4 P’sStrong knowledge of retail environmentTarget experience a plus

The base salary range for this position is $95,100 to $130,800; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
