This Position reports to:
Country Supply Chain ManagerAs a Category Manager, you will have the opportunity to develop, plan, and implement procurement strategy focused on optimizing costs, quality, delivery, and reliability of suppliers and supplied products for an assigned category or group of categories. Each day, you will ensure execution in accordance with company, procurement, and supply base management instructions and procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by recommending frame agreements to management and executing upon approval.
This role is contributing to the EL IM&S in Canada and is located in Saint-Laurent. The work model for the role is hybrid.
The objective of this position is to leverage the purchasing power of ABB on a country level and to achieve the set performance targets for the respective categories. The position holder will manage the Canadian IM&S spend and ensures that category strategies get defined and implemented in close collaboration with key stakeholders. Main stakeholders are Function Lead & Businesses.
Performance Management
In collaboration with Regional IM&S Team, set cost reduction targets for all category teams in scope based on corporate targets and support in developing the category teams to a high performing organizationEnsures that the Category sourcing performance targets are achieved according to the IM&S (Indirect Materials & Services) operational dashboard (especially cost reduction/avoidance and supplier reduction)Collaboration / team orientation on defining and implementing solid processes throughout the value chain for an annual spend of around $ 50MUSD No Direct ReportsLeveraging the Continuous Improvement Process Sourcing process for implementing effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy and ensuring that the supply base/suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements.Managing planning and tracking of procurement activities, cost budgets, emerging country spending, and savings forecasts.Negotiating agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renews price lists, and terms and conditions.Ensuring identification, investigation, and selection of appropriate suppliers (focusing on quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability) in accordance with company policies.Drive RFIs / RFQs and provide support to regional IM&S business negotiations, and manages the assigned project teamEnsures that the ABB e-Sourcing tool gets leveraged whenever feasible and define RFQ / P&L standardization processes and negotiation strategiesEnsures that contracts for preferred and/or approved suppliers are based on ABB’s terms and conditions and filed in SAP Ariba and provides and maintains standard terms in purchase contracts/terms and conditions in line with Company directives and guidelines.Ensures alignment and best practices between local P&L activities and the GBS Global Centers.Actively manage supplier portfolio including but not limited to Supplier consolidation, reduction, evaluation and, classification and run regular review meetingDrives Supplier Relationship Management and Supplier Quality to next level strategy to further reduce Supply Base, NCCs and improve NWC, and to increase sustainability, and solves cost/quality/scheduling issues and runs claim management (when escalated)Drives improvements, sustainability and cost-out projects with Suppliers for long-term partnershipApplies and implements P&L standards, tools, and processes focused on business efficiency for the assigned commodity or group of commodities.Alignment with peer Category Managers of same category in other countriesActive support to Country Business Partners (CBP) to facilitate business, strategy and performance discussionsBlend into to global assigned Category community and drive tasks globally as assigned and agreed with region/global IM&S Management

Basic Qualifications:
University degree (BA/MBA/ENG/MS) in related field: Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, Business Economics7-10 years experience in Strategic SourcingPreferred Qualifications:
