POSITION OVERVIEW
This position is responsible for the training and progress tracking of new employees hired into the Casting departments as Casting Technicians.
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
Expected to assist in the implementation of EHS Values and policy statements and accompanying principals. Comply with all department, facility, corporate and regulatory EHS regulations. Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE). Report all job related illness and injuries (Per Employee Handbook). Report all safety, health and environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner. Attend all EHS training.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Train new Casting Technicians in all aspects of job, including but not limited to: Casting unit operation Safety concerns. Cleaning and PM techniques. Computer systems. Troubleshooting techniques. Paperwork and record-keeping. Regularly report on progress of new employees by means of training checklist. Ensure new employees get scheduled for necessary “classroom” training sessions. Ensure current employees are provided with opportunities for continuing development. Performing Casting Technician duties as required by department schedules. Performing other duties as assigned by department supervisor or managerBASIC QUALIFICIATIONS
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’). No relocation benefit is offered for this position. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Has satisfactorily completed technician training course. Have a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Casting Technician Be able to read, write and speak English. Must be able to perform basic math skills Meet or exceed job specifications elsewhere defined for “Casting Technician”. Be capable of running both DS and Equiax casting equipment. Be willing to work afternoon and midnight shifts as required. Have consistently demonstrated good communication skills. Have consistently shown an ability to work with Engineering, Maintenance and other casting Technicians. Be able to understand complex written instructions. Be moderately computer literate. Understand functional basics of casting unit, including but not limited to vacuum, motion, power and control systems. Have consistently demonstrated an ability to troubleshoot casting unit and related equipment.

Industrial work environment, includes working in hot temperatures. Lifting up to 25 pounds
