Job Description

 

·       To assist the Team Lead in overseeing cash application operations, ensuring the timely and accurate posting of customer payments.

·       This role includes supervising a team, resolving complex issues, and driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

·       The position acts as a critical support role to the Team Lead, ensuring adherence to internal controls and compliance with organizational policies.

·       Performing end-to-end cash application activities for AECOM entities on specified region.

·       Follow established policies, procedures, and management guidance.

·       Manage the daily cash applications activities ensuring timeliness and meeting all required SLA.

·       Work closely with the team, team lead/manager and relevant offshore and onshore teams within O2C Tower in reaching goals and accomplishing the team vision.

Responsibilities & Duties

Assist the Team Lead in managing daily cash application operations.

Monitor team performance to ensure timely and accurate application of payments.

·       Provide guidance and training to team members to improve productivity and performance

·       Supervise the processing of various payment types (checks, ACH, wire transfers, credit cards, etc.).

·       Processing 30% volume or performing equivalent cash activities

·       Review and resolve escalated issues related to unapplied payments, short payments, and overpayments.

·       Ensure all payments are accurately posted to customer accounts within the agreed SLAs.

·       Investigate and resolve complex payment discrepancies in collaboration with internal teams (e.g., PA, billing) and external stakeholders.

·       Monitor deduction trends and recommend resolutions to minimize disputes.

·       Escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate level when necessary.

·       Generate, review, and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly cash application reports.

·       Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts receivable.

·       Identify trends in discrepancies and propose preventive measures.

·       Collaborate with the Team Lead to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.

·       Partner with IT and finance teams to optimize ERP systems for enhanced cash application processes.

·       Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding payment-related queries.

·       Coordinate with treasury, bank teams, and other departments to resolve payment issues efficiently.

·       Ensure all cash application activities comply with organizational policies and financial regulations.

·       Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent relevant courses.

6+ years of relevant professional experience in Cash application.

At least 1–2 years in a supervisory or leadership role is preferred.

Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Employee Center Oracle) is required.

Advanced knowledge and understanding of accounting standards and procedures and internal controls.

Proven experience as a cash applications or similar role

Excellent skills in investigating/researching payment history/details

Knowledge of billing procedures and collections

Working knowledge of MS Office and databases

Comfortable working with targets

Patience and ability to manage stress

Able to handle difficult or irate stakeholders

Problem-solving skills

Very keen to details

Ability to work independently and contribute to broader team objectives

Ability to multitask and manage time amid multiple deadlines
