The Division of Student Affairs and Dean of Students Office has a temporary job opening for a licensed case manager with primary responsibilities include assessment, referral, intervention, and case management of various student issues, including health and mental health emergencies.

The Case Manager (Licensed)/Student Liaison (CML/SL) is a member of the Dean of Students Office (DOSO) staff reporting to the Associate Vice President and Dean of Students and provides consultation and advisement on student mental health-related matters. The CML/SL is a DOSO liaison to the Counseling Center, Student Health Center, and the Office of the Ombudsperson and receives case management referrals from these and other offices and individuals. CML/SL works to assist in the resolution of student queries and concerns regarding physical, mental, social, social, familial, academic, disciplinary, economic, and other areas affecting their matriculation at the University by providing a range of support and clinical intervention services. The CML/SL interacts regularly with parents, mental health professionals, hospitals and social service agencies, and various members of the University community.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Case Management (70%)          

Assist the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students and Associate Dean/Social Worker in addressing parental questions and concernsManage and provide crisis intervention services that may arise in the course of regular working hours to manage or assist University personnel in addressing student crises  Perform psycho/social evaluations in an effort to determine students’ needs, create and execute intervention plans designed to minimize and/or resolve student issuesConduct short-term counseling and provide continuity of care until student is referred and linked with appropriate services and continue to provide case management services as neededProvide referrals to university and community agenciesCommunicate and coordinate with parents, University personnel, hospitals, and other professionals to address student needs and provide continuity of care to students

·       Provide support and guidance to University Troubleshooters in matters pertaining to case management maintenance and access to records, when appropriate 

Contact and collaborate with other University departmentsCollect, evaluate, and record all facts pertaining to student casesMaintain factual case records and prepare necessary statistical reportsReport case updates to and receive case supervision from Associate Dean and Social Worker

Dean of Students Office (20%)

Provide support for intake related to Title IX situations to include sexual misconductFollow-up with Student Assessment Committee cases and ensure student compliance with requirements  Perform other general or specific duties as assigned by the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students and/or the Associate Dean of Students and Social WorkerInitiate parental contact when appropriateAssume the role of Associate Dean/Social Worker when needed due to absence

Student Liaison (5%)

Serve as liaison to Housing and Residential Life for on-campus housing-related matters 

General (5%)

Perform other general or specific duties as assigned by the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students 

Education & Work Experience Requirements (Essential Requirements):Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or related fieldLicensed clinical social worker or licensed mental health counselorMinimum of 3 years full-time professional experience required; higher education experience preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA):Licensed clinical social worker or licensed mental health counselorKnowledge of behavior healthStrong administrative and problem-solving skillsExcellent communications skillsVery organized and detail-orientedExcels in a fast-paced environment
