### Job Duties
The Case Aide is responsible for performing a wide range of paraprofessional social service tasks in support of the social services team. Duties include reviewing case records to ensure completion of required forms, managing and updating provider approval processes, and completing daily intake assignments. This role involves taking MnCHOICES referrals and other intake calls, explaining intake processes to clients, providing data privacy forms, and informing clients of their rights, including the right to appeal. The Case Aide makes appropriate referrals to other health and human services units or community resources, maintains contact with external providers, and carries out clerical and technical functions related to social services operations. Additional responsibilities include completing statistical work related to social service programs, assisting with processing purchase of service contracts, SSIS service agreements, vouchers, and MMIS entries, as well as drafting correspondence and preparing reports. The Case Aide also provides administrative support to social workers and case managers, particularly in connection with waiver case management services, and may be assigned other related duties as needed.
### Minimum Education Required
The position requires three years of successful clerical experience and/or experience working with the public. Alternatively, candidates may qualify with two years of clerical experience in a social service or human services agency, or with two years of experience as a community service aide or in a similar role with a private nonprofit or other public agency. Another option for meeting the requirement is completion of two years of study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university, or similar institution, with an emphasis in the behavioral sciences (at least 23 quarter credits or 16 semester credits).
### Minimum Experience Required
Applicants must have at least three years of successful clerical experience and/or experience working with the public. In place of this, candidates may qualify with two years of clerical experience specifically in a social service or human services agency, or with two years of experience serving as a community service aide or in a similar role within a private nonprofit or other public agency. Equivalent educational preparation may also be considered in meeting the experience requirement.
