Cartographer - Expert
**Description** Leidos is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Specialist/Cartographer at the Expert level to provide critical tradecraft/technical support to foundation data production, data integration, and data partnerships within a high-tempo environment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting operations for the GEOINT enterprise. **Key Responsibilities:** + Utilize a deep understanding of geography, foundation data processes and procedures, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to produce and/or review national and international foundation data for map and chart production at various scales. + Analyze and evaluate foundation data for quality assurance, ensuring coverage, accuracy, currency, completeness, and applicability to data requirements. + Participate actively in technical exchanges with Government and partner personnel located at contractor sites, Government facilities, and virtually around the globe. + Contribute to enabling activities in support of foundation data production, including writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), developing "how-to" guides, and training coworkers. + Perform data extraction and imagery analysis using ArcMAP/ArcGIS Pro/MAXAR. + Complete timely and accurate foundation data reviews. + Perform foundation data quality control/quality assurance analysis using GAIT/QAC software programs. + Demonstrate expertise in teaching data extraction, metadata, and cartographic standards and procedures. + Apply expert understanding of and application of foundation data methodologies. **Required Skills and Experience:** + Expert (P5) Typically required a BA degree and 12-15 years relevant experience or master’s with 10-13 years of prior relevant experience. (Must obtain 18 combined education and experience points as ascertained by customer requirements). + 4-6 years of demonstrated experience performing data extraction and Imagery analysis using ArcMAP/ArcGIS Pro/MAXAR. + 4-6 years of demonstrated experience completing timely and accurate foundation data reviews. + 4-6 years of demonstrated experience performing foundation data quality control / quality assurance analysis using GAIT/QAC software program. + 1-3 years of demonstrated experience leading a contractor team, including providing weekly progress reports and coordinating and providing contractor personnel status. + Demonstrated experience teaching data extraction, metadata, and cartographic standards and procedures. + Demonstrated expert understanding of and application of foundation data methodologies. **Desired Skills and Experience:** + Proficiency in the Technical Reference Document TRDv.4.x and UTRDv.1.x. + Regional Geographic proficiency in Latin America's physical, cultural, and social geographies.
