**Job Title: General Shop Helper** Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and skilled General Shop Helper to join our team. This role involves a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and refurbishment of trailers. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach and be comfortable with various repair and maintenance activities. Responsibilities + Tear out drywall and replace it with new materials based on the layout needed for the next job site. + Use basic hand and power tools effectively on the job. + Operate a spray gun to paint the interior and exterior of trailers. + Remove flooring and replace it with laminate or tile flooring as needed. + Document completed tasks on the trailer using a paper-based system. + Use a forklift to move or lift items around the yard, when the operator is unavailable. + Clean windows, blinds, doors, floors, and walls when replacements are not required. Essential Skills + Experience with HVAC, plumbing, maintenance, repair, electrical, and framing. + EPA Universal certification is advantageous. + Construction experience is required. + Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is beneficial. Additional Skills & Qualifications + "Handy Man" type skills or experience in maintenance for apartment complexes. + Mechanically inclined individual who is coachable. + Pride in workmanship and willingness to get hands dirty. Work Environment Work in a smaller shop environment with 15 technicians where units are dropped off for repairs before being sent back to construction sites. The standard shift is Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:30pm. During the spring and summer, additional hours may be required due to increased workload. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, Oregon. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
