Position Description:

Nevada Gold Mines is looking for a Drilling Supervisor to join the Carlin MRM team located in Elko, NV.  The successful candidate will partner with Drilling Services and Geology teams to ensure drilling programs are executed according to plan and in compliance with all Nevada Gold Mines Safety and Health, Contractor Management and Environmental policies and applicable regulatory agency guidelines.     

 

Responsibilities:

Review project scopes of work and support drill planningProvide technical advice on the suitability of proposed drilling methods to achieve project objectivesEnsure drill sites are constructed within design parameters and ready for occupancyEnsure drill rigs are property set upProvide detailed daily activity reportingAccurately reports status updates on hole conditions, sample quality and recovery and delays to drillingLiaison with Mine Operations personnelEnsure all down hole surveys are performed to client specificationsInspect equipment and laydown areasManage inventory of consumablesParticipate in contractor safety meetings and incident investigationsConduct visible felt leadership interactions with drill contractors

 

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of experience with exploration drilling, specific technical knowledge of air rotary and core drillingMinimum 2 years of experience working underground Experienced in contract management  Strong commitment to achieving zero accidents and citationsGood communication skills and problem-solving skillsExperience with computer software (MS Office, AcQuire)  Familiarity and understanding of exploration process    Ability to travel locally on a routine basis
