We are looking for a Manager, Maintenance Engineering at our Carlin processing operations consisting of two roaster facilities, one autoclave facility, one concentrator, and three heap leach CIC plants. Reporting to the Processing Manager and working in close collaboration with the Plant Managers, the Manager, Maintenance Engineering oversees the integrity and statutory requirements of all processing assets, key infrastructure improvement plans, maintenance improvement plans, and reliability improvement processes for the processing facilities.
The role leads the engineering, reliability, and planning teams across the Carlin processing plants to drive a program of work in support of improved equipment reliability, asset integrity, compliance, process safety, and asset performance. The role is accountable for engineering standards, compliance, management of change and document control, and is responsible for administering the site-wide critical risk register. The engineering team owns the technical specifications of the fixed plant infrastructure, and this role ensures the provision of quality in-house technical expertise. The Manager, Maintenance Engineering is also responsible for the development and management of the Life of Mine sustaining capital plans for the plants, budgets and forecasts, and supporting the plant managers in the prioritization of projects for maximum business benefit. The role has “dotted line” oversight to process maintenance execution.

Responsibilities:
Drive safety mindset through Visible Felt Leadership and engagement of front-line teams, ensuring effective participation by the engineering team in site programs including field level risk assessments (FLRA), Team Risk Assessments (TRA), Field Interactions, and Fatal Risk Audits.Direct accountability for maintenance planning, engineering, reliability, small capital improvement projects (low value or simple in complexity), Process Control and Operational Technology, and operational excellence / improvement across the Carlin Processing Facilities.Perform a maintenance systems governance function for Carlin Processing.Provide an operational excellence function focusing on integrating safe operational targets and maintenance plans at all levels of the business.Be the Carlin processing champion for material risks, insurance audits, and process safety improvements, and work with the management team to ensure Fatal Risk Management controls are embedded.Be the custodian of the defect elimination process. Coach and develop all direct and once-removed employees.Mentor and guide the plant managers, particularly those with a non-maintenance background.Provide a coaching and development service to the mechanical and electrical superintendents reporting to the plant managers.Continuously improve asset management structures, systems and compliance of such.Outage optimization and improvement.Be a driver of innovation both within operations and maintenance.Maintenance LOM budgeting, including improvements in standards in cost control and reporting.Enable and implement improvement initiatives through Carlin, NGM, and industry benchmarking. Ensure quality and efficiency at all project stages - planning, justification, design, approval, construction, commissioning, and turnover – applying both company practices as well as industry codes and standards.Manage the interface with the Capital Projects team on larger projects to ensure seamless development, execution, and operational readiness.Serve as coverage for either the Carlin Processing Manager or either of the plant manager roles.Foster a culture whereby maintenance focuses on gold production as their primary KPI and operations Operate for Reliability. Manage and ensure the effectiveness of the Management-of-Change (MOC) process.Help to create a “One Team” mentality across the business.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required A minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of progressive operational / management positions, of which at least five (5) years should be in Process operations is requiredPrevious experience working in mines with similar size and technical scope to those of Carlin is preferredProven success and demonstrated track record of leading a strong culture of process safety is requiredAbility to establish, communicate, and measure aggressive results regarding safety, productivity, continuous improvement, and sound business practices is requiredDemonstrated ability to build and develop a strong team and positive working relationships with a diverse workforce is requiredExcellent people skills (coaching & mentoring) directed towards developing and empowering teams & individuals are required.Able to prepare and present reports to all levels of the organization in an accurate and understandable format is requiredProven success in implementing and managing change processes is requiredExemplary safety, performance, and attendance record is required.Proactive focus on talent assessment and career development for key Process staff is requiredDemonstrated ability to design, implement, and control internal and external projects is requiredSound business judgment and knowledge of financial and accounting functions together with a solid understanding of what drives profitability, cash flow, and costs is requiredSome travel and extended hours may be requiredExcellent organizational, time management and office management skills preferredWhat We Can Offer You
