Carlin - Accountant II/III

Position Description:

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for an accountant/financial analyst at our Carlin Complex. The successful candidate will support reporting and strategic planning as related to the Carlin sites; developing budgets, forecasts, financial models and analyzing actual expenditures that support the company’s strategic goals and help in making informed business decisions; supporting managers and cost owners as requested to provide financial insights, support financial planning processes, and provide recommendations to improve financial performance; perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

· Developing and maintaining financial models that support forecasting and budgeting

· Facilitating preparation, consolidation, and review of all budgets and forecast processes.

· Collects/organizes financial information and inputs into financial models, identify trends and make recommendations.

· Assist in tracking and determining financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with budgets/forecasts

· Create ad hoc templates, reports, and analysis for use by finance/managers/departments to evaluate their businesses.

· Work closely with project teams as needed.

· Identify and implement productivity and process improvements.

· Prepare monthly financial reports and statements.

· Recognize and communicate potential issues to his/her supervisor, as appropriate

· Collaborate with all site stakeholders to ensure financial data accuracy

· Participating in meetings with other departments to discuss financial planning and provide financial insights.

· Contribute ideas and actions towards the continuous improvement of processes within area of influence. Identifying areas for cost reduction and improvement.

· Assist in establishing and maintaining strong, collaborative partnerships with finance customers.

· Gives and encourages feedback, contributes to building a positive team culture, and puts success of team above own interests.

· Establish knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and Barrick accounting policies, procedures, and internal control standards, and maintain compliance while performing responsibilities

· Ensure compliance with safety procedures and safety training requirements.

· Perform other duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field required; master’s degree in accounting or MBA preferred

· Three (3) to six (6) years prior related experience preferred for Accountant II / Minimum seven (7) years prior related experience preferred for Accountant III

· Strong technical analytical skills, understanding of strategy, and comprehension of business-related implications required

· Proficient with Microsoft Office, advanced Microsoft Excel required

· Ability to stay organized, efficient, analytical, and to pay close attention to detail required

· Excellent team player with the ability to work with all levels of personnel/cross-functional teams required

· Strong written and verbal communication skills required

· Ability to be self-motivated, flexible, and able to organize and respond to multiple demands and priorities required

· Prior implementation or working experience with SAP, OneStream, or Xeras applications preferred

· Exposure to the mining industry in an accounting or analyst function preferred
