Basic Function
This role supports the Commercial Global Scheduling function by providing backup and holiday coverage for Commercial Operators. When not providing coverage, identify and initiate various changes to build and improve consistency in scheduling processes and functions and provide support to Operators for addressing back-office issues. Proactively manages a diverse group of tasks with multiple timelines, stages, and stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities Providing additional backup support to the London Cargo Operations team (estimated 75% of responsibility Preparing for holiday coverage by training with supported Operators Coverage responsibilities to include: Managing logistics to and from refineries, terminals, or customers to support operations Ensuring safe, timely deliveries by monitoring and analysing availability of barges, on-site and off-site storage, supply point options, delivery time requirements, schedule availability, traffic and weather conditions Working closely with traders to optimise movements to capture the highest value Coordinating internally with stakeholders to ensure accurate deal movement capture and financial reporting as timely as possible Fostering strong working relationships with external counterparts that distinguish Phillips 66 as an industry leader in integrity, scheduling excellence, and professionalism Developing nominations for waterborne movements and seeking vetting approval from Marine Coordinating inspectors and ensuring specification and quantity measurement requirements are met and reconciling any sharing of costs between counterparties Performing loss control oversight and escalating issues as needed Entering movements into SAP, Navarik, Mainstay and other 3rd party systems accurately and on-time as applicable 24-hour on call availability for changes to schedules and emergencies When not providing coverage: Identifying and initiating process improvements to reduce non-value added tasks for the London Cargo Operations team that result in time savings and transactional accuracy Support Operators with addressing back-office issues Represent Operations team in business development discussions. Critical Skills/Leadership CriteriaRequired:
Hold the legal right to live and work in the United Kingdom without restrictions or the role you are applying for meets the criteria for employer sponsorship. 5+ years of work experience Basic knowledge / understanding of crude or products markets Previous experience with Commercial operations as well as knowledge of the downstream value chain Strong analytical and data management skills Proven organisational skills and attention to detail Demonstrated ability to make real-time commercial decisions that have a significant financial impact both independently or as part of a commercial team Ability to interface effectively with internal and external customers, counterparties, suppliers and consultants Collaborative team player with ability to work constructively within a very close and demanding team-working environment Good communication skills (both oral and written)Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline Self-motivated, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and prioritise work Demonstrated ability to work independently to manage multiple projects / task Basic proficiency in SAP S4
Phillips 66 has significant marketing operations in Europe. In the UK the business is primarily wholesale, selling fuels to distributors (some of whom are branded JET) and resellers. The fuels are either collected by customers or delivered through a contracted road tanker fleet operating out of a number of UK distribution points. In addition, Phillips 66 Limited supplies a network of approximately 330 independently owned petrol forecourts, all of which are branded JET.
Other markets served are aviation, marine and LPG. JET supplies some of the UK's growing secondary airports using owned and shared refuelling tankers and storage, and delivers to airlines through contracted refuelling operations. Marine markets are served using contracted vehicles, as is the LPG business.
