The Personal Care Assistant is a vital part of our team, providing aid to our participants as well as contributing to the care planning process as a member of our interdisciplinary team (IDT). Reporting to the Day Center Manager, the Personal Care Assistant will provide safe delivery of personal care services to participants at the WelbeHealth day center.

Collaborate with different departments within our day centers, building strong connections not only with participants, but with team members as well Unlike in a traditional assisted living facility, our Personal Care Assistants have the opportunity to care for seniors in a lively day center where our participants receive full-service care ranging from medical appointments, to rehabilitation services, to playing games and participating in activities

On the day-to-day, you will:

Provide hands-on personal care assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) to WelbeHealth participants, including but not limited to assisting with escorting, toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, laundry, and physical lifting when transferring participants Measure and document participants’ vital signs as instructed Act as a medical escort when needed, assisting participants with boarding and exiting WelbeHealth transportation vehicles Oversee activity on the day center floor to assure participant safety Assist with meal service, ensuring participants receive the correct meals, as well as assist with feeding when needed Maintain personal care supplies such as incontinence supplies and grooming items

Job requirements include: 

High school diploma or equivalent required Certification of Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant in California (CNA) preferred Minimum of one (1) year of experience providing personal care to seniors CA Food Handlers Certification within 30 days of hire
