Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Career and Professional Development, the Career Services Specialist assists students with internship/job opportunities and job search techniques; conducts individual career readiness appointments with students and alumni; assists with Career and Professional Development programming and events; assists with marketing departmental resources and services.

Responsibilities:
+ Critiques LinkedIn profiles, resumes and cover letters; performs mock interviews
+ Provides career advising to students, prospective students, and alumni in the areas of career planning, resume writing, job search, networking, interviewing skills, salary evaluation, career and employment issues, and personal development.
+ Advises students on available job or internship opportunities, through set drop-in advising hours and by individual appointment.
+ Assists in coordinating job fairs and professional development events.
+ Supports the mission by participating in general workshops and big events, walk-in advising, and weekly meetings.
+ Assists students, alumni, faculty, and staff with set up, usage, and troubleshooting HireWarriors accounts.
+ Assists with scheduling and approval of appointments on the HireWarriors platform.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ An Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent work experience.
+ A minimum of two years of relevant experience in higher education or a related human resource, recruiting, or employer relations setting.
+ Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Must be professional in all aspects of the position including professional dress and appearance, demeanor, and attitude.
+ Consistently display the highest levels of integrity.
+ Ability to prioritize, multi-task, perform well under pressure, meet deadlines, and work flexible schedule.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ A bachelor’s degree in human resource management, higher education administration, , counseling, or related field.
+ Experience working with military and adult student populations.
+ Experience working with Canva, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Outlook.
+ Experience using social media platforms for marketing purposes.
Salary: $16/hour
Hours: Monday, 8am - 12:30pm and Tuesday -Thursday, 8am - 1pm.
Please note: This is NOT a remote position, the selected candidate will be required to work on campus.
